I hail from the most competitive group, the indian IT sector, though from a company (NetApp) that has a very good reputation in the US and have a lot of alumni association work (at my undergrad level and beyond) to provide to a B school. I also have a couple of leadership stories to talk about at my undergrad level (educating students in the local schools and nearby engineering colleges with fundamentals of robotics and electronics and accomplishing the alumni association initiated projects to name a few). For academics, I have a couple of international conf. scholarships and work with the linux kernel honchos along with a UG at ITBHU. I have also undertaken some basic business courses from harvard business school publishing (the harvard manage mentor course)

I joined the corporate world on 24th May 2k6 (that gives me an experience of close to 3 years at the point of joining the B school). I aspire to be an executive at some big concern driving revenues and strategies a couple of years in the future and the finance and consulting sector attracts me. I have also been publishing the alumni association magazine for some 1.5 years and the alexa shows a 300% increase in traffic in the past 3 months.
I wrote gmat once and scored a 660 (31 in verbal and 49 in quant) /4.0 . I would be rewriting it on the 5th of September to improve my score. My dream institutes are harvard, wharton and stanford though I am afraid that I might not be able to get into these. Some research showed me some hope at Tuck (with an 80% range in 580-790), Duke (with almost the same range). In fact the research showed me that I am in the lower half of the range in most of the schools as of now.
Can you suggest some b schools that I should be looking forward to in order to ensure that I do get an admit (and a six figure salary after course completion :P). I am already preparing my essays for ISB.
